A massive congratulations to the highly talented Argentinean Lionel Messi as he wins his SEVENTH Ballon d'Or which is an absolutely unbelievable feat which no other footballer to have ever graced the game has been able to reach apart from him.

Although the second placed Lewandowski achieved so much throughout the year it still somehow wasn't enough to compare to Lionel Messi leading his country to the Copa America final and lifting the trophy as well as carrying his former club FC Barcelona with his footballing ability as they continue to go through a tough time in La Liga.

Despite everything this is Leo's night and he deserves all his plaudits due to consistently putting in performances worth every last bit of praise

And the new award revealed tonight has gone to none other than Chelsea FC for a very surprising but successful year as they won the biggest prize in club football, The Champions League as the beat Manchester City as well as winning the Super Cup bringing their total to two very highly regarded trophies. A large success for manager Thomas Tuchel as he took over the job in February as the club sacked Frank Lampard after a quite rough period of results.

Jorginho who placed third in the Ballon D'or voting will be pleased to see his efforts at the club recognized by the footballing world.

Chelsea fans were overjoyed and shared their reactions all over social media towards the clubs success, enjoying the night being recognized as the best performing club of the year

Some took to twitter in order to voice their opinions with clear disdain towards Chelsea winning the award, believing they were not worthy and many other contenders had more reason to win instead

Robert Lewandowski is named 2nd on the Ballon d'Or voting as he finishes an excellent year with the accolades to prove it and even though he unfortunately hasn't won the Ballon d'Or he is still recognized as one of the top footballers across the entire planet and will be remembered for years to come as one of the footballing greats.

Jorginho from Chelsea FC is named in third place after a successful year with both his club and national team, winning the Champions league and the Euros with Italy against an England side with a lot of potential but left the nation disheartened.

Karim Benzema landed within the top 5 as he grabbed 4th place which the Frenchman should definitely be pleased by considering all the other talents he was up against. He put up unbelievable numbers throughout this years La Liga campaign as well as making his return to the France Football team for the Euros where he scored and assisted to help his team progress to the Round of 16. Benzema will be looking to improve upon an already successful season.

To start off the Top 5 nominees we have Ngolo Kante with a well deserved ranking as he put in countless memorable showings in a Chelsea shirt this year as his Man of the Match performances brought his team to the Champions League final which they ended up winning also due to him being able to run the midfield just showing the high level he continues to play at.
